Best wedding images from our 2019 season
I cannot believe it is already time to share our 2019 best of weddings blog! This was quite a year for us. It was our first full wedding season in Colorado. We continued to grow our destination wedding portfolio. And I felt like we photographed some of our best weddings yet!
This year we ventured into the mountains, flew to California (three times), photographed a wedding five minutes from our house and got to love on so many beautiful clients.
We thought we would try something a little different this year. Rather than just share a random bunch of photos from the year. We’re going to share a few photos from each wedding along with our favorite moment from that wedding as well!
We headed to California in March to celebrate Lian and Jesse! Their wedding was the day after our five year wedding anniversary, so we were definitely feeling all lovey-dovey on their day. From the beautiful pastel hues to the lush florals their day was nothing short of stunning. However, my FAVORITE part of their day was the speeches from the ones they loved. Hearing Lian’s brother give a heartfelt speech seriously brought tears to my eyes. And Jesse’s brother gave one of the funniest speeches I have EVER heard at a wedding. Greg and I still laugh about it to this day. We just adored this beautiful March wedding and are so thankful to have captured these two!

Kelly and Michael’s wedding also took us back to California and we loved the chance to get away from the snow for a bit! We soaked up all the California sun and all of Kelly’s chic style. Kelly planned a stunning black and white wedding that was pulled off so beautifully when set against the lush greens of Coyote Hills golf course. One of my dear high school friends, Michelle, was also a bridesmaid at this wedding, so serving family friends is always special. There are so many things I loved about Kelly and Michael’s wedding, but if I had to pick just one thing it would be their color choices.

Lauren and Chad were our first Colorado wedding of 2019 and we got to venture to Estes Park to celebrate their day. Leading up to their day the weather was not looking good. However, just like magic the rain cleared at just the right times and let us get stunning photos all day long. We loved how intimate their wedding was. We also loved that their wedding took place at the Stanley Hotel!

When I pictured Colorado weddings in my head, I pictured Caitrin and Peter’s wedding. Stunning mountain views, lush whimsical flowers, and the feeling of nature all around you. Hands down my favorite part of Caitrin and Peter’s wedding was their ceremony. First, Peter built the geometrical wedding arch that was topped with the most stunning flowers. Second, the snow-topped mountain views were everything you would want from a Colorado wedding. Third, they did not just have one person marry them… They had everyone at their wedding pronounce them husband and wife!

If you know one thing about Colorado is that the weather is about as unpredictable as you can get. It can be sunny and 70 one day and then we could have a blizzard the next. Unfortunately, Julie and Ryan got the latter. Well, not quite a blizzard, but they got a pretty nasty rain and thunderstorm that was posed to hit RIGHT as they were to say their “I dos”. We got a call from them that morning that they were moving the ceremony up, and we hopped in our car and headed to the ceremony. Despite the ceremony being moved up by HOURS, these two were WAY calmer than I would have been. It was so amazing to see the way they handled this. It reminded Greg and I, that even after five years of marriage we can learn from our couples who are just starting out!

Katie and I touched base frequently while she and Scott were planning their special day. I loved hearing about special details and seeing the wedding come together little by little. Katie and Scott had a picture-perfect wedding where I adored photographing each and every detail. They had the perfect shade of blush. She wore the most perfect dress that reminded me of a royal wedding. Their reception was decorated with the most romantic twinkle lights and perfect touches. All throughout the day, I kept saying just how much Katie reminded me of Kate Middleton and just how royally perfect their day was.

Jennis and Brianna have an adorable wedding story. One that is also a little close to our heart. They were high school sweethearts just like Greg and me. Jennis is the boy who picked her up for senior prom and they have been doing life together ever since. This little fact made their wedding speeches my favorite part of their day. Not only did their friends and family share special memories and words of encouragement, but their reaction to these special words was just so special.

One of the first weddings we booked once we moved to Colorado was Rebecca and Chris’s wedding. The funny thing about that though is their wedding was in California! So their wedding took us back to California and to one of our favorite venues nonetheless. Rebecca and Chris were living in NJ when they booked us and were not arriving in California until a few days before the wedding. Because of this, we were unable to meet before the wedding. Which made our favorite part of their wedding, getting to know them and their love story.
Rebecca grew up in Northern California and knew one thing was for certain, she did NOT want to go to college somewhere cold. So naturally, she ended up at the United States Airforce Academy in Colorado Springs, you know, the state that basically snows from November to May ;). Little things in her life were leading her towards Chris and likewise, little things in Chris’s life we’re leading him towards her. Their chance meeting (while each tagging along with other friends) just shows how the little and big moments in life lead you exactly where you are meant to be when it is meant to be.

Michelle and Shane planned a bit of a reverse destination wedding. While these two live here in Colorado, most of their family and friends live out of state. This meant, that when planning their Colorado wedding they were focused on giving their guests a taste of just what Colorado has to offer. Nestled up in the Rockies surrounded by rolling hills and blooming wildflowers the Copper Mountain resort offered just what they were looking for. The quiet mountain town was everything you dream a summer Colorado wedding would be.

We love weddings, we also love puppies, so when you put puppies and weddings together. Well, that is as good as it gets for us. Megan + Erik didn’t just have their puppy Brewster involved in a little bit of the wedding. He WAS the wedding. Brewster was the bestman and stole the show over and over during the day. Oh, and these two didn’t even blink an eye when I took them for pictures in a PARKING LOT. Nope, they were game for anything and we got the most amazing glowy images from it.

Any wedding that takes us closer to an In-N-Out is a win in our books, and Jonathan and Katie’s wedding did just that. We flew out to California for our last destination wedding of the year and it was absolutely perfect! With their wedding, I am SERIOUSLY struggling… Because not only did they have picture-perfect details– red mustang getaway car anyone?? They also had not one, but TWO stunning confetti exits! One from their ceremony and one from their reception. So it came down to what was the most unique… And for us, that was the two confetti exits!

When coming up with my favorite thing from Claire and Travis’s wedding, it was a no brainer. I’m a sucker for shoes, but even Claire’s shoes took that love to a new level. She had custom painted heels for her wedding day, with the Cinderella’s castle and ‘happily ever after’ on them! Yes, her shoes were that amazing.
These two have the most adorable story of how they met and started dating. Even after 100 weddings, it is probably one of my favorites! So click HERE to read their story and see more from their day!
Leva and Michael were married in the most magical winter wonderland. Leva’s parents created a beautiful day for their daughter, with every beautiful touch you could imagine. Leva had not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous wedding looks. And believe me, she looked stunning in each one!
