Michelle and Shane planned a bit of a reverse destination wedding. While these two live here in Colorado, most of their family and friends live out of state. This meant, that when planning their Colorado wedding they were focused on giving their guest a taste of just what Colorado has to offer. Nestled up in the Rockies surrounded by rolling hills and blooming wildflowers the Copper Mountain resort offered just what they were looking for. The quiet mountain town was everything you dream a summer Colorado wedding would be.
The ceremony was held at the base of the Super Bee with treelined rolling hills and mountain backdrops. However, their wedding would not have been complete without their two Australian Shepherds also being there. If you know Michelle and Shane, then you know their Ash and Piper mean the world to them, so it was only fitting that they walked down the aisle with the best man and maid of honor. And having them there led to my favorite moment of the day. As Michelle and Shane turned to face each other and we’re pronounced husband and wife, all of their guest clapped and cheered on the happy couple. Even their fur guest let out an approving yelp that had all of their guest laughing. It was the perfect joyful ending to their ceremony.
Normally by the time the reception hits, we’re done with all of the formal portraits. However, we loved that Shane and Michelle were up for 10 more minutes of photos during some reception downtime. All-day we had not really gotten any glowy light due to the clouds rolling in and out. However, as if just for them, right as we walked outside the clouds rolled away and we got some dreamy glowy light! We love when our couples are up for a few more minutes of portraits because then you get amazing results like these!
