The invitations were sent and the time was all set for a beautiful 5:00 pm wedding on Julie’s parent’s property. A wedding venue Julie herself helped grow, and one that had already seen many family weddings. So, when a strong storm was blowing in and threatening heavy rain and thunder from 2:00 pm and you have your heart set on getting married under a canopy of trees in your parent’s back yard–there is only one thing to do. Move the wedding up 4 hours of course! While moving a wedding up might not be ideal and is definitely not for the faint of heart, Ryan, Julie, all of their friends, family, and guest handled it so wonderfully. We honestly wondered how many guests would be able to make the adjusted time, and we’re so surprised to see that there was not an empty seat at their ceremony!! However, we shouldn’t have been surprised by this, truly it was a testament to Ryan, Julie, and the impact they have on everyone in their life that made the day possible.
Leading up to the ceremony, everyone was on site and busy putting final touches together. Boutinears were being made in the kitchen, flowers were being placed at the gazebo, and every person was working hard to make Julie and Ryan’s day as amazing as possible. Despite the rush that led up to the ceremony, the ceremony itself was beautiful, calm, and a wonderful testament to God and marriage. It was the type of ceremony that touched our hearts and really made us pause and remember just how precious marriage is.
Despite the predicted heavy rains that pelted down later that evening, it held off until right when we finished with all of the pose photos!!! I mean, how lucky is that! Right as we clicked the shutter on our last bride and groom image, the rain picked up and we were in the car nice and dry and ready to capture a fun reception!
Ryan and Julie, the day may not have been exactly as you planned, but it was beautiful none the less. Marriage is not the easiest of journeys, but seeing how you two handled stress, change, and pressure makes us confident that no matter what life brings your way, you two will handle it wonderfully. We’re so honored to be the ones who were able to capture day one of this new adventure.
