Grace and Troy were our last wedding of 2018 and I could not imagine a better day to end this amazing year with. Not only was it at our favorite venue, but their day was absolutely gorgeous from start to finish! Sparkly Kate Spade shoes, rich apple red bridesmaid dresses, and the prettiest deep red blooms you have ever seen! And to top it all off, their reception featured a mini doughnut station and petting zoo! I couldn’t think of anything that could have made their day better!
As I walked towards the suite Grace was getting ready in, I could hear soft laughter echo out to the hallway. And as I entered the room I could feel the excitement bubbling. The girls were all dressed in matching robes, sipping Champaign and putting on their final touches. They joked with each other as they gathered their things and fluttered around the room. Towards the back of the suite, Grace sat as her final touches were applied. She was probably one of the calmest brides I have ever seen, and all she could talk about was marrying troy and then getting to hold a micro pig at the reception. As I began to capture details, we chatted like old friends and excitedly counted down the minutes until the first look.
Grace finished getting ready, her bridesmaids gathered around with Champaign glasses in hand. As the glasses filled, the excited laughter filled the room again. Leaning in towards each other, the girls clinked their glasses and gave their well wishes to Grace and Troy. And set the tone for an amazing wedding day.
Troy stood on the porch of the Kellogg house, with his back towards the door. Grace made her way to the doorway, the turn of the century house stood as their backdrop. As she made her way towards Troy, their friends peaked out of any available window. All hopping to catch a glimpse of the two sharing their first look. Grace took a breath and made her way towards Troy. Reaching her hand up, she tapped him. Troy slowly turned to meet the eyes of his beautiful bride. And they stood there, taking in each other. Grace, looking at her handsome groom. Troy, soaking in the vision of his beautiful bride. They shared a kiss. He twirled her around. And then the rest of their wedding day started.
