I L-O-V-E being a wedding photographer in Colorado and Southern California. From sunny beaches, historic missions, urban hideaways to beautiful mountain tops. We have it all when it comes to wedding venues. However, even though I am SO grateful to be a wedding photographer in Colorado, it doesn’t mean my wanderlust heart doesn’t get a little envious of what the rest of the world has to offer. I thought it would be fun to share with you my top 5 dream destination wedding locations.
Okay, Ireland is easily number one on my list for so many reasons. Castles, rolling green fields, cobblestone paths… need I say more? Ireland is also where my ENTIRE (literally) family is from. I would jump at the opportunity to take Greg and Makenna to Belfast to meet all of my family and see the places that hold my family’s history. Oh, and I mean literally— I am the first American born in my family!
If you saw this place, then you would know exactly why it is on the list. Haven’t seen it?! Open up a tab and google this beautiful GEM. To me, this place just makes my heart sing. Also, Greg is Italian and getting a chance to see his heritage would be amazing.
Greg and I have two dream trips. One is a month long African Safari, the second? Santorini, Greece! Between the sweeping ocean views and the roof-top living, this place just screams elegance. Photographing a wedding among the white and blue roof tops would be our idea of photographer heaven!
There is this venue in Colorado called Little Nell and if Greg and I were to ever renew our vows—we would do it there. It is absolutely breath taking and I would jump at the opportunity to visit out favorite state (that we now live in). But we wouldn’t turn down a wedding in any part of gorgeous Colorado.
I love the east coast—I could never live there—but I could visit it countless times and still love it just as much. There is so much history everywhere. I mean, Alexander Hamilton walked on the grounds of Washington’s house! So me, getting to walk where these great figures in our history have walked is humbling. So I would love to capture a wedding at a venue rich with history. I would also love to capture an engagement session at the National Mall—the elegance and regal-ness blows me away and I would love to capture it! Also, after photographing a stylized shoot in Virginia and working with some AMAZING photographers, I’m even more hooked on this place!
Am I missing out on a hidden gem? Tell me in the comments!
