One of my biggest fears in moving to Colorado, was having to find all new spots for our engagement sessions. We had spent YEARS finding hidden gems in California that were perfect for our style. However, finding new and exciting places to shoot has actually been one of my favorite things about moving! One place we had been very eager to shoot at was Rocky Mountain National Park. We had visited at least four or five times since we have moved here and having a national park in our ‘backyard’ has been so fun. So, when Katie and Scott suggested it as the location of their engagement session we could not say yes fast enough.
Rocky Mountain is this dreamy location that basically has everything a girl that loves the outdoors could want. From lakes and mountains, to meadows and gorgeous trees there is no shortage of beauty in the park. The only problem with this place, is narrowing down just where to shoot, since everywhere you turn is somewhere new and magical. After narrowing it down to, two gorgeous lakes within the park; the four of us set off to explore and capture some fun memories during Katie and Scott’s season of engagement.
It didn’t take more than a few minutes together to realized we loved these two and that we were in for an amazing session. First off, they were two of the sweetest people we have ever had the pleasure of photographing. The way they interact with each other is just darling and had me swooning over how natural they are together. And secondly, they were complete naturals in front of our lens. I would begin to ask them to do something, and before I could even get the word out, they were doing it. Posing together was so natural for them, and made my job a breeze!
By the end of our time together, we were all joking like old friends and I was doing double takes on how the afternoon had went so fast! June cannot come fast enough, because I cannot wait to see these two again, and capture another milestone in their sweet love story!
