The Chocolate Chip Cookie Theory
I have a theory. That when you add chocolate chip cookies to the mix, everything gets better. They are the classic cookie. The cookie depicted everywhere. They just make life sweeter ;). So when Greg and I realized that we haven’t connected in a few days we hit pause, whipped up some chocolate chip cookies and focused on us. We employed the chocolate chip theory on our marriage and were able to recharge. 🙂
This week has been pretty crazy for Greg and I. We are getting back into the groove of weddings, while trying to balance an infant and get our business back on it’s feet after such a long break. Somedays we are killin’ it and some days it feels like we are gasping for air. Today we realized that while our hustle is getting us places, it is also taking a lot out of us. So tonight we gave ourself permission to take it slow. We gave ourself permission to take a break.
In our business, our philosophy is marriage first. We approach wedding days with the goal of glorifying the bond. We preach marriage on a daily bases; however, we stopped tonight and realized we’re not livin’ what we’re preachin’. So we instead of getting back to the grind, we took a step back and realized we needed to focus on us. I baked cookies, we put netflix on and cuddle with our baby girl on the couch. Tonight we lived what we preached and we challenge you to do the same. Bake some cookies together. Go on a walk together. What ever you do, do it together. Don’t worry about the dishes. Don’t worry about the to-do list. For tonight, just worry about each other.
Here is to us spending more nights practicing what we preach because marriage is too important to become a chore. Marriage is our foundation and you need to take care of your foundation and what you have built upon it.
