I am so excited to share Dyllan and Stephanie’s rich fall-toned wedding at the Heritage Museum of Orange County. From deep burgundy dresses that were softened with an elegant lace trim to lush bouquets filled with luxurious red peonies; Stephanie and Dyllan’s day was filled with so much love, emotion and joy that by the time it was over, we were wishing for a time machine to do it all over again.
The floors creaked, as only 100-year-old floors can, as the girls rushed into the Kellogg house to slip into their floor-length burgundy bridesmaid dresses. All around us, people were racing in and out as final details were being put into place. The familiar chime of the door rung over and over as family and friends rushed in and out. There was so much excitement in the air that you could feel it to your core. It was as if everyone was floating around us in fast motion, but in the parlor, time stood still. Stephanie stood in the window’s soft light, poised and calm. Soft light flooded the room, seeping through the windows of the transplanted 100-year-old Victorian-style Kellogg house that has seen its fair share of life and love. As Stephanie calmly stepped into her dress and her mom tenderly zipped it up, fluffing delicate lace, as only a mother can. Once Stephanie was in her dress, she took a deep breath and soaked in the moment, joyfully counting down the minutes until she was married.
Once Stephanie had finalized her look she was ready to head out to the ceremony, but there was one last thing to do. Because, as much as she loved Dyllan, there was one man she still had to see first—the very first man she ever loved. Her dad stood anxiously at the door, shifting from foot to foot. As Stephanie stood, with her back to the door, he walked quietly into the room. Quickly making his way into the parlor and to his daughter. He walked over to his little girl, his first daughter, the first daughter he would give away, and placed a hand on her shoulder. As she turned around to greet him, both of their eyes filled with mist. The emotion of the moment could be felt in every corner of the house, as you heard a chorus of bridesmaids “aww” in the background. Her daddy leaned down kissed her on the forehead and led her out of the house and towards Dyllan, who was patiently waiting at the end of the rose petal aisle for his bride.
